Privacy Policy
Last updated September 25, 2026
BizGroups helps churches and other communities share the businesses their members run. That means you trust us with your name, your face and your story. This page explains, in plain language, what we keep, who can see it, and how to take it down.
What we collect
- Your account: your name, email address, a password (stored only as a secure hash, never in plain text), and an optional profile photo and short bio.
- Your listings: whatever you choose to add, such as your business name, what you do, the story behind it, a photo, and contact details like phone, email, website or address.
- Your groups: which groups you belong to and your role in each (member, manager or owner).
- Sign-in details: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, plus the IP address and browser type used for each session, so we can keep your account secure.
We don't use advertising trackers, and we never sell your information.
Who can see your listing
- Before it's approved: only you and the leaders (owners and managers) of the group you submitted it to. Leaders also see your name and email so they can follow up.
- After it's approved: anyone who has the group's link can see your listing, including your photo, story and the contact details you added. Only add contact details you're comfortable sharing that widely.
- Search engines: groups are unlisted by default. If a group leader makes their group public, search engines like Google can show the group page, which includes each listing's name and photo.
- Other members: signed-in members of a group can see each other's names, profile photos and roles on the group's People tab.
Who we share it with
We only share data with the services that keep BizGroups running: our hosting and database provider, our image storage provider, and our email provider. They process it on our behalf and aren't allowed to use it for anything else. We'll also disclose information if the law requires it.
Emails we send
We only send emails about your account and listings: confirming your email, resetting your password, and letting you know when a listing is submitted, approved or needs changes. Group leaders get an email when a new listing is waiting for review.
Removing your information
- You can edit or delete a listing anytime from My Businesses, or remove it from a single group.
- You can leave a group anytime from the group's page.
- To delete your whole account, email us at dev@bizgroups.app and we'll remove it along with your listings and photos.
Children
BizGroups is meant for adults running a business or ministry. Please don't create an account if you're under 16.
Changes and questions
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and let account holders know by email. Questions? Reach us at dev@bizgroups.app.
